The family is the building block of society. But a progressive society needs a solid family. And a solid family needs not only the strength and unity of the husband and wife. The role of the children is very essential in building up and keeping the family intact.
There is the common saying that a family that prays together stays together. But for me, a family that is blessed and guided by the Lord God stays solid forever. And a blessed family contributes to the positive development and progressiveness of the society.
I, as one of the children of my father and my mother, has a very important role in building up a solid family. Even though I am the youngest among the brood of three, I was already given duties and responsibilities. My parents taught us to be independent, responsible, generous, loving , caring, respectful not only to the elderly but to everybody, and most of all, they molded us to be God-fearing.
My role as a child, is a to encourage my parents to strive more in doing their responsibilities not only for our education but for the benefit, growth and future of each family member.I should fulfill the failures and imperfections of my family members by taking the initiative to be helpful, generous, understanding, forgiving and be patient to whatever problems that may occur.
I have to strive hard and to persevere in achieving my dreams and goals in life. This will not only make my family happy but will also make them proud and be encouraged to be more productive. I should be more cooperative in whatever my parents' plan for our own good. I should obey my parents and my elder brother and sister because I know that they will not put me to harm. I should not be a cause of trouble in our family. At my age, I must be aware of the family matters in our home. I can now make my own decisions but I always see to it that I ask for their advice and guidance.
These are my roles in contributing to a solid family. I should not just know these to keep the family strong, intact and solid but also to do these with love and always with the guidance of God and my family. I will try my best to do, apply and to accomplish these as I pursue my journey in life. ^_^
