My First Week As A Junior

In spite of my third year in High School, I still feel the usual nervousness and excitement every first week of classes. The thought that I am going to meet again my new teachers and new classmates after the Brigada Eskwela made me feel both excited and nervous at the same time. It was June 6, Monday, I woke up around 5:00 AM and I did my usual hygienic and breakfast routine, wore my usual school uniform then rushed to school to avoid tardiness. My father dropped me to school and we saw that the other students were also rushing because the flag ceremony is about to start. After the ceremony, we went back to our room and our adviser, Ms. Berganos, told us to clean our designated areas. After cleaning, we went back to our room again and started the class. We had some discussions, lectures and recitations. After the first day of classes, I commuted back home. I still feel happy and excited in spite of the whole day 0f exhaustion.

On the second day, I woke up early but I got late in school because of the heavy rain. Luckily I saw Ms. Atendido, our English teacher. She called me so I got nervous I thought she will ask me of my tardiness but in stead she just asked me to bring the test papers to two sections upstairs including our section. She told me to wait for her upstairs for the reading test. We stated taking our diagnostic tests. I felt bored sitting on our chairs for almost half of the day, answering questions that I could not understand. We were not allowed to chat with our classmates while taking the exams. Taking recess was really a great relief. Before taking our lunch we chose which club we are going to join. I joined in the Filipino club and was elected as  the III-Fluorine Representative in the year level.

On the third day, Wednesday, we still had our diagnostic tests of the remaining subjects. Afterwards, I took my lunch with Charisse outside the school. During the afternoon we had our regular classes in some subjects and we also checked our diagnostic test papers and recorded our MPS or the Mean Percentage Score.

On the fourth day of our classes, we had our regular classes again but only in some subjects because we checked our remaining diagnostic test papers and had our MPS recorded. I got low scores of course since these are diagnostic tests. After the classes, I went home early never thinking that it is Thursday and we have to attend our worship service of the Iglesia ni Cristo. I have to go back to the town proper to attend the worship service.

On the fifth day, I woke up late so I rushed to school and was excited to wear my Junior Girl Scout's uniform but I forgot my ID. Luckily, it wasn't noticed. We had our regular classes again. After all the classes, we had our flag retreat and had our doxology, prayer and sang the song "Pilipinas Kong Mahal". After all of these we went home already.

I would say that our first week of school was full of excitement, fun, and learnings in spite of some mistakes such as forgetfulness and tardiness. I hope that more exciting things will happen to me on the whole year of being a Junior.  ^_^
